Massage is done best on nude skin. However, if you are not comfortable with this you may dress down to your level of comfort. Remember that you will always be professionally draped.
Your job is to RELAX. To relax as completely as possible, here are a few hints:
* Breathe deeply and regularly, stressing the exhalation
* Allow the body and its parts to become very heavy and sink
into the table
* As the therapist's hands locate areas of tension, consciously try to
let go and relax these areas
Talking is up to you. It can be a distraction though in receiving the full benefit of the massage.
Give feedback if any manipulation is uncomfortable or if you enjoy a technique and would like that to continue longer or differently.
Just lie there. Allow the therapist to move your limbs into whatever position required. Be a rag doll. Do not try to be helpful. Simply receive. The therapist is a trained professional who knows what they are doing and will not hurt you. Follow hints or suggestions with confidence.
Close your eyes. "See" with your sense of touch. Feel your body both inside and out. Closing one's eyes in the massage experience tends to bring one's center of energy out of the head and into the body.
